Story
Welcome to the fundraising page for my 1000 mile cycle in aid of Cyclists Fighting Cancer (CFC), also in memory of Raymond Gregory (1925-2017). Following being knocked off my bike in August 2017 the idea to cycle to Berlin quickly changed from a concept to a certainty. This is a rare opportunity to undertake such a challenge so please help me achieve an incredible result by donating generously to CFC
The Route: The route is based on the incredible journey undertaken by my granddad Ray and millions of other allied troops commencing on D-Day, June 6th 1944. Having landed on Gold Beach in northern France the troops fought their way to the German capital of Berlin, liberating
Europe from the Nazis along the way.
My journey passes through many of the same towns and cities as my granddad did and visits significant places along the way such as the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery. Traversing north east across France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany to Hamburg I then head southeast to Berlin to the finish line at the Brandenburg Gate.
Averaging 70 miles a day for 14 days this challenge will be undertaken in September 2018 and whilst I will have contact with home, I will be riding solo and otherwise unsupported.
