Story

Updated on Jul 10th 2011 at 12:17 PM from the JustGiving API

Thank you to everybody who has donated so far. Let's see if we can make a push for the total!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Eczema is a skin condition which affects both children and adults alike, it is “boiling of the skin”, a condition that occures when the underlying immune system is out of kilta and allows allergies to affect the skin causing rashes, itching and worse, all of which at present can only be treated with steroids

As a sufferer all my life - undergoing various treatments of creams, ointments, emollients, oral medication and several hospital stays - I decided that I wanted to help raise people's awareness of this skin complaint, as well as raise vital funds for the research and development of potential treatments.

So, as a keen(ish!) walker, I thought I'd undertake a walk to hopefully raise funds for the National Eczema Society to plough into the research of eczema treatments. The walk I have set my sights on is no mean feat. It is the 630 mile long South West Coast Path, straddling the coasts of Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, and Dorset, from Minehead to Poole Harbour. We hope to do this as one continuous walk, starting on Good Friday with a small core of walkers, supplemented by a logistics team running kit forward each day. Others are joining in where they can, and the whole party hopes to reach Poole by the beginning of June, and to raise £10,000 for the Eczema Society. So if you're around and about in the South West of England during May 2011, please come and find us to say hello..and give us your financial support!! It'll be much appreciated!!

UPDATE 15/05/11 Dear All

We are Half Way plus 1 day, 333 miles and still firing on most cylinders after three weeks walking!

We could not send an update on the Half Way day as the B&B seemed to have lost it's code, not the only place that had problems, we spend a lot of time searching for mobile signals and can confirm that the Lizard is the worst place by far! Not only for that, the waiting time for most courses in the place we ate was in excess of 30 minutes and when queried we were told that 90 minutes was not uncommon, so that one could enjoy the ambiance no doubt!

Weather so far has held, sun, wind and little rain so here's hoping for the next three weeks. Support crews have been great, and the change over days OK so far, with bags being in place before we are in most stop overs. The bonus was a visit from Jen on my birthday to be found as I walked into Sennen!

Only ten more days away before we start commuting from home, and a lot more people coming to walk during the latter part. Fun in store and more important more pledges and promises so hopeful of a really good total, thanks to everyone's support.

Stephen and Roddy
