We fund care, campaigning and research to achieve a world free from MND

Story

This time Rose and I have teamed up to take part in a 5k event in Bushy Park on October 6th in memory of our much-missed dad, John, who died from Motor Neurone Disease in January this year. We are hoping to raise as much money as possible to help fund research in the hope that in the future other families will not have to cope with the effects of this terrible illness.

Our dad was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in March 2008. MND is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the upper and lower motor neurones and leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing. There is currently no cure and average life expectancy is less than 5 years from first symptoms.

This is part of Jog for John which our mum and some friends are organising for participants of all ages and abilities in aid of The Princess Alice Hospice (via a suggested entry fee) and the MNDA (via sponsorship).

If you can't join us on the day, or even if you can, please sponsor us and help us raise money to find a cure for this vicious illness. Any amount would be gratefully received, along with support on the day. Thank you very much.

I'd also like to personally thank everyone who generously donated for my skydive for my dad in 2009 which was a huge success raising over £8,000.

This charity very close to our hearts and we wish to remember our dad who we miss more than anything and wish he could still be with us.

Love Rose and Izzie x
