As many of you will be aware, as well as granting small wishes for children & young people going through heart surgery, The Zak Scott Braveheart Foundation also want to offer some families a short break away after a long or difficult hospital stay.

During our many hospital stays with Zak, we soon realised that the emotional and physical impact on the whole family can be profound. Some families are separated for not only days, but weeks, and when the child staying in hospital has brothers or sisters it can be a truly trying time meeting all the family’s needs.

That is why it is important for us at the Foundation to be able to offer a short break away to enable families to recharge their batteries and have some quality time together.

Currently we are very limited with the families we can support and we've had to set strict criteria with direction and guidance from the cardiac support team.

We, at the Foundation, are kick starting a campaign to try and raise funds to purchase a holiday home retreat to be able to offer more families the use of the facilities throughout the year. This is an ambitious project in which we hope to gain as much support as possible.
