This year on 8th September, I, along with my daughter, Sophie and a few good friends are running in the Simplyhealth Great North Run trying to raise money for 
Maggie's Centres. This wonderful charity offers practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer.


When my beautiful wife Maggie was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer in 2008, we decided to go away to Wales and spend some family time together away from everything and everyone. We needed some time away from the hospitals to forget about cancer and get our heads straight. We were walking along a beautiful deserted beach when we spotted a sign saying, “Maggie’s Cancer Care ➡!” At the time we joked and couldn’t believe the irony of the situation but it did make us laugh and I never forgot that walk.

Now, eleven years later, we are trying to raise money for the charity by running further that I have in over 30 years!


I know many of you have sponsored Team Maggie before whilst we were raising money for other charities and I am very grateful to you all. If any of you would like to sponsor us for this worthy cause we would again be forever grateful.
