Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page!
My mum spent the last weeks of her life in the Margaret Kerr Unit, the palliative care unit for the Scottish Borders. The staff there were fantastic; they made my mum as comfortable as she could have been and brought joy and dignity to her final weeks. They made a difficult situation as good as it could be for my sister and I. Therefore I wanted to raise some money to help them to continue to support other families whose loved ones are dying from cancer and other horrible diseases.
I've never been into running in a big way although I have done the odd 5k in the past - I've always found them hard though. Therefore this is quite a challenge!! And why run a half marathon in your home city when you can run round a beautiful Hebridean island instead? Plus it's called the Barrathon...that might have been a big part of the appeal. Bring on 30th June!
Thank you so much for your support! It will help spur me on up the hills when I'm struggling.
