Suffolk Accident Rescue Service volunteers provide an enhanced resource to help treat critically ill patients who need urgent specialist care before they reach hospital. All our doctors and paramedics volunteer without charge and we rely on voluntary donations to support our life-saving activity.

Story

CPR & AED Awareness Ride 2022 - SARS

As part of C.A.A.R. 2022 we are supporting SARS. For more information see https://caar2022.wordpress.com.

Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) was created to provide critical care services for people involved in the worst medical emergencies for the people of Suffolk. This year SARS is 50 years old.

From a personal perspective, a volunteer SARS Critical Care Paramedic attended me and secured my airway and administered powerful sedatives before my transit to the Royal Papworth Hospital by the EAAA.

Like most people, I had never heard of SARS until they came to my assistance.

I am proud to say that I am now a volunteer with SARS supporting with education and back office work.
