So back in 1997 it was my dad Brian Shipley who founded Essex air ambulance and as a charity it’s grown considerably since then! Essex & Herts Air Ambulance is a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS); providing a free life-saving service. It cost £6 million a year to operate and this is all funded by donations from the public and its lottery. 

Sadly back in December 2015 we lost my dad to cancer so I am now trying to do my bit to follow in his amazing legacy! I volunteer  for them, helping with the cpr campaign that was launched this year in his memory, amongst other events where I can. 

I’ve had the amazing opportunity to be a contestant in their version of Strictly come dancing on the 23rd of March 2019.. This will involve me having hours of dance lessons, dancing one Latin and one ballroom on the night. We have the launch night on the 27th November and I’m so excited!! This is where we will be paired off, find out our dances and what famous dancers will be joining us on the night!
