Story

"MAKE A WISH... and place it in your heart. Anything you want, everything you want. Do you have it? Good. Now believe it can come true. You never know where the next miracle is going to come from. The next smile, the next wish come true. But if you believe that it's right around the corner, and you open up your heart and mind to the possibility of it, to the certainty of it, you just might get the thing you're wishing for. The world is full of magic. You just have to believe in it. So make your wish. Do you have it? Good. Now believe in it, with all of your heart." - One Tree Hill (filmed in Wilmington, NC)

Did you make your wish? I hope so! My wish is to raise money to grant a wish for one critically ill kid. The average cost of one wish (in the UK) is $3000+. As you know, I am a runner. I run everyday and do not take this ability for granted. I am blessed to be able to go on daily runs and travel the world to run marathons. Some people are not so lucky, especially critically ill kids. Because of this, I have decided to run the London Marathon with Make-A-Wish UK because I believe every kid deserves to smile and to make their dreams come true. Please help me fund these special wishes for kids! Any and all donations make a difference and I am truly appreciative of your generosity and support.

Since I am running the London Marathon, all proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish United Kingdom. Kids deserve to smile all around the world! Thank you for your kindness and consideration.

Lastly, please mark your calendars for April 21, 2024 to cheer on me and the other Wish Heros as we race through the streets of London on the Make-A-Wish Foundation Marathon Team!

Thank you again!

With Love,

Shannon

About Make-A-Wish:

Make-A-Wish was established in 1980. It became an international organization in 1993 to serve five countries outside the United States and today helps to serve children in 50 countries and territories on 6 continents through its 40 Affiliates.

Make-A-Wish International has the same mission as Make-A-Wish America — to grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses. With the help of generous donors and more than 32,000 volunteers worldwide, Make-A-Wish has collectively granted more than 520,000 wishes, making it the world’s largest wish-granting organization.

Specifically, Make-A-Wish® UK grants life-changing wishes for the thousands of critically ill children across the UK. Sadly, the number of wish enquiries from seriously ill children with less than a year to live is rising fast. They need help to meet this urgent demand now - before it’s too late. For families with critically ill children, every day counts. Your support has the power to make a wish come true for a critically ill child, allowing families to create lasting memories that they will treasure forever – no matter what the future holds.
