Story

Hello!

Anyone that knows me knows I'm not one of life's natural athletes...so you know that if I'm running a half marathon it's for a bloody good cause!

Aubrey Smith and I became friends over a shared love of Star Wars, Family Guy and afros and nearly two years after he passed it away it's still inconceivable that he's not around.

Aubrey passed away whilst running the Glasgow Half Marathon in 2012 -  so I'm running the race this year to raise money for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) - a charity that works to make sure other people don't lose their friends and family.

As a new runner I rely on my iPod - so I'm letting everyone that donates pick a song for my "Half Marathon Playlist" - just leave your song choice in the comments box! I solemnly promise to include ALL the songs that people pick - something I might live to regret!

I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't an amazing cause - or in memory of an amazing friend, so please be generous!

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.
