We fund research and raise awareness to transform treatments and survival rates

Story

On 13th October 2014 my mum, Margaret, died at Weston Park Hospital, Sheffield.

She had been living with Ovarian Cancer for over a year and had bravely undergone operations and lots of chemotherapy sessions to try to fight the disease. I knew my mum was very ill but I really didn't know how ill she was. Like her I'd avoided knowing too much, I wanted to focus on being positive throughout her treatment and to enjoy those hours and days when she felt "good"

Since she died I've learnt a lot more about the horrendous disease that killed her- ovarian cancer is the most aggressive gynalogical cancer in the UK and less than 1 in 2 women survive longer than 5 years - one the lowest survival rates in Europe. Only 15% of all cases are diagnosed at an early stage but early diagnosis can increase chances of survival to 90%!

So, I'm riding from London to Paris - with 2 friends - and a load of other people all raising money for Ovarian Cancer Action and their research into methods of early diagnosis. I'm also doing it in memory of my mum - who I loved very much. If you can help us along the way with a donation, we would all be eternally grateful. Thank you x
