Simon's Continental Coast to Coast, final stage · 13 September 2016

Aquabox is a volunteer-led charity and community project which provides safe drinking water and humanitarian aid to crisis zones and refugee camps around the world. We rely entirely on donations and the fundraising activities of our supporters to fund our work.

Story

This September I am taking part in Advance's final stage of their charity cycling event, Lyon to Monaco. www.advancelyontomonaco.co.uk

The route will take us through the Alps with over 10,000 metres of climbs and a total of 480km to cycle, which is going to be my biggest challenge yet.

This year I am supporting Aquabox www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZ-MOkxFGlU who provide emergency aid boxes containing essentials including an amazing water filter.

Its hard to believe that in 2016 over 2 million people are dying every year due to water bourne diseases. Along with the water filter the boxes also carry other essential items including suvival bags and humanitarian goods. The most recent delivery of boxes arrived in Nepal to help those affected by the earthquake and more recent forest fires. These boxes were delivered by the Gurkha regiment.

Aquabox runs solely from dontaions from the general public and operates with an army of volunteers from Matlock, Derbyshire. Aquabox aims to bring  humanitarian aid to those affected by drought, earthquake, floods, conflict or crisis.

With my fellow riders we aim to raise a total of £12,500.
My personal goal is to raise £1000. We all need help in a crisis, so please help me to achieve this by donating to this very worthy cause.
