Story

Hi everyone,

Everyone who knows me knows that I love a good challenge and now I’ve decided it’s time for another one.

My Challenge is set in the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park……

Objective   –   54 mile mountain trek……   Target 24hrs …..  And no stopping, - Over terrain used by the army & SAS for training!

It’s going to be hard..... ‘Really hard, - and that is why I have chosen to support WWF.

Having an awareness of the huge number of projects that ‘WWF’ run to help protect and safeguard the future for so many species under threat from an ever increasing range of issues will be really motivating when the going gets really tough!

Preparation starts in February, 16 weeks before the challenge with fitness and gym work (coupled with all of the other usual active stuff)!   to get to peak fitness in time to maximise my chances of completing successfully with a good time,

I plan to be fitter than ever , and in good shape and, having  completed, a coast to coast of Hadrian’s Wall in 44 hours a couple of years ago, this will be great experience to help  me make it!

I’m really looking forward to taking on this challenge on behalf of such a brilliant charity and it would be brilliant to get some great support for ‘WWF’, to continue towards all of the amazing work they really do do to protect for the future the massive diversity of life they support. ……I’ve put together some info here to outline what all the great work is and how all of the support for my challenge will help……..

My fundraising target is a sniffer dog!

Please take a look and feel free to share and circulate with anyone who you think might also like to help..

Please support me on my challenge for ‘WWF’   ~   Thank you!

More about WWF

WWF – ‘Creating solutions to the planet’s most serious environmental challenges so that people and nature thrive’.

Here are some of the contributing factors and problems WWF works to overcome…….

  • Illegal Wildlife Trade
  • Habitat Loss & Degradation
  • De-Forestation  &  Pollution
  • Climate Change……
£10 could fund blood testing to check the health of one polar bear so we have the data needed to understand how climate change is affecting them.
£25 could fund the cultivation and planting of over 800 tree seedlings to replant areas of critical tiger habitat.
£50 could train 25 farmers on effective and safe ways to deter elephants from crop raiding in Kenya.
£100 could pay for a pair of binoculars for rangers helping to protect Amur leopards in the Russian Far East
£750 could pay for one wildlife sniffer dog to work on patrols sniffing out smuggled wildlife products like rhino horn and tiger bone.
