Story

Snowborn Guild play The Elder Scrolls Online for 24 hours for SpecialEffect on Friday 13th - Saturday 14th October.

Who are Snowborn?

We are a small, social, international guild that play Elder Scrolls Online (PS4, EU server). The guild is friendly, fun, helpful and organise regular events such as Trials for newbies, skyshard/lore book hunts, PvP sessions and the recent spider mount race across Stonefalls. For more information on the guild, please visit http://snowborn.shivtr.com

What is SpecialEffect?

In their words - "SpecialEffect put fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with disabilities by helping them play video games." They have an amazing range of equipment and technology to help children and adults enjoy games, from eye-control to modified controllers adapted to the person's needs. SpecialEffect is a fantastic charity and we're excited to raise money for them. To learn more, please visit their website http://www.specialeffect.org.uk or watch some of the people they've helped  https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC0B9mlVoZtsFV4RPOGDYQXw

What will Snowborn be doing?

We will be playing Elder Scrolls Online for 24 hours starting at 8pm (UK time) on Friday 13th October. Some members aim to do the full 24 hours and others, due to having young families, work or health issues, will drop in and out doing as much as possible.

Due to the date and closeness to Halloween, we will have a spooky theme. Alongside running trials, pledges and dungeons, we will also be doing other activities such as hide and seek, a monster mount race, creepy costume competition and an ESO/Snowborn quiz.

Will the game-a-thon be streamed?

Our guild member, Timmi, is hoping to stream some of the action at https://go.twitch.tv/timmiblack (apologies in advance for any adult language!).

What is The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO)?

If you're not a gamer, then you may understandably wonder what ESO is. In basic terms, it's a huge multiplayer video game set in the fantasy continent of Tamriel where we play as Orcs, Elves, Humans and other races, using different weapons such as swords, bows, daggers or magic staffs. A lot of the game involves following the storyline through quests which can be done solo or in groups with friends. There's also a PvP area, which means we're killing other players (or just dying a lot!) and laying siege to the enemies castles. Guilds are organised groups of players within the game that are optional to join. Some may be dedicated to PvP, others for doing the 12 player trials, some are for trading items found in the game or some are a mix of different things with an emphasis on being social (like Snowborn).

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donates and/or shares this fundraiser online. We have a big target amount to reach but hopefully, with your generosity, we'll smash it!
