Story
I am raising money for Mind, in memory of friends and to raise awareness and support for those currently receiving care, with compassion, consideration and understanding.As most of you know, I'm not the fittest bear on the block, and its been over 5 years since I completed a Half Marathon. This won't be an easy return but the head space achieved through running, helps keep the happy in my step. Its a treatment that I am lucky, always clears my blues and helps me put things into a reasonable order. Mind provides help for people who find themselves struggling to cope with their daily lives, in all situations and at varying levels of crisis.. 2 or 3 hours of hell on tarmac on 16th October 2016 will be a small price for me to pay, to help others find their happy too.
To help me get ready, I've signed up for an additional 10 events, to help raise support and get me ready for the big day. These are a series of 10km runs in the months before my half marathon and include:
26th June - Greenwich Park 10km = Completed! 1 hour 19mins
10th July - Vitality London 10km = Completed! 1 hour 13 mins
6th August - QEOP 10km = Completed! 1 hour 15 mins
11th August - QEOP 5km = Completed! 35 mins 10 seconds
18th August - BBC Running Club 10km = Completed! 1 hour 11 mins
21st August - Hyde Park 10km - Completed! 1 hour 12 mins
27th August - TRIBE Run Free 10k - Completed! 1 hour 22 mins
18th September - Kew Gardens 10k - Completed! 1 hour 11 mins
24th September - Serpentine 1 mile Swim - Completed! 1 hour 15 mins
1st October - QEOP 10k - Completed! 1 hour 8 mins
16th October - Great Birmingham Run **Half Marathon** - Completed 2 hours 29 minutes
All 11 events will be run or swam to help raise money for Mind, so please feel free to use this page for any sponsor money, for any event I will be running at.
