We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Thank you so much for visiting Sophie's page.

Sophie very bravely endured several years with ulcerative colitis, most likely caused by the medication that she had to take after surgery to remove a brain tumor ten years ago. Many of you never knew that she was fighting this brave battle. Not once did Sophie complain, and she was never without her smile, sparkling eyes or lacking in enthusiasm!

In mid April, Sophie had to have major surgery to remove her colon, however there was a secondary infection that lead to life saving surgery 4 days later. Dear little Sophs was incredibly weak going into these operations, after what had been a physically challenging 2017 for her. After several days on life support, a chest infection set in. In the early hours of April 29th, Sophie passed away in peace surrounded by her husband Adam, her Ma and Pa, and her sister Holly and brother-in-law.

Sophie has always wanted to help others, and after her surgery she had planned to help educate fellow Chrohn's and Colitis sufferers on how to live a normal life with the disease, and fundraise to help find a cure. So this is where we come in ... let's make this happen friends & family! Please help us raise money to continue what Sophie had set out to do.

Thank you so much!
