Story
On August 4, we will be taking part in RideLondon-Surrey 100, a 100-mile cycle route through the capital and into Surrey's stunning countryside all in aid of St Giles Trust.
All the money raised will go towards St Giles Trust's SOS+ Project, educating young people on the dangers, realities and consequences of involvement in gangs, county lines and knife crime.
50,000 children in the UK are exploited by gangs every year. These young people are at risk of abuse, incarceration and serious violence. We want to empower young people to stay safe and make positive choices for their futures. Together, we can change the game.
Meet the team
Roddy Boulton: Knackered heavy frame, high mileage for year, scuffed and scrapped, whiff of burnt rubber, powered by hot air...
Guy Varney: Riding in the same colours as last year. Not getting any younger and probably carrying a few extra pounds, but loves the track and that counts for a lot.
Joe Clark: A fair-weather commuting cyclist that has been convinced a 100 mile ride is a great idea. A little anxious but excited all the same and desperately optimistic for good weather!
Monty Irwin: Can usually be found riding a mountain bike very slowly up the South Downs. Ride London promises to be by far the longest ride he has attempted in many years.
Henry Martin: Summer time cycling enthusiast. Chances of finishing, high. Chances of burning, absolute certainty.
Mat Williams: Dedicated 'fair weather' cyclist. Expected to finish, despite aversion to long distance and hills. Target mid-peloton placement (trending rear)...
Stuart Howard: Stuart likes cycling as much as he likes holidays and when he decides which one to be best at, he'll either be an amazing road racer or have a fantastic (full body) tan.
Mark Dunhill: A greedy foodie with a mild cycling disorder: more time on the long open roads and less time in front of his Big Green Egg would have been a better way to prepare for this adventure...
