Right Boys & Girls!

Whilst sitting in the bath earlier this year contemplating deep and meaningful thoughts I had an epiphany, a revelation if you will...The first was that, not only had I begun to develop grey hairs, but, that one had also made a gallant foray in to the manscape!! Shortly after removing the offending little bugger the realisation of my mortality struck with all the force of a runaway freight train!

    I have been on this planet for 30 years – that is a sobering thought!! However, In that time I’ve been fortunate enough to do some really amazing stuff, go to some awesome places and made some really cool friends across the world,  but recently I have begun to take an Inventory of the things that I haven’t done, which has landed me here!

    Some people buy a motorbike, make questionably accurate videos about African warlords, and Even run around naked whilst masturbating and beating the pavement, but I wanted to do something that presented a real physical challenge. So I've decided to rectify the situation with not one, but, TWO big events, with only a month between them, and in the process of doing so, raise ( and this is where you lot come in) a decent wedge of cash for a great cause along the way!

Event Information

Hoy Half Marathon - Sunday 17 June

Before anyone even tries to mention the “half” bit - go to Hoy and see the course, it’s a monster, up hill, half marathon and billed as "Not the fastest Half Marathon you'll do, but almost certainly will have been the Toughest..."

There will be 3 of us running as a Team in the event Baz Kenyon, Nick Nourse, and myself, were all hoping to squeeze in under the 2Hr mark and, hopefully be in the running for not getting the wooden spoon!!

 Tough Mudder – Sunday 15 July

The Second beauty is the Tough Mudder - Held in Scotland and billed, modestly, as "Probably the Toughest Event on the Planet" Tough Mudder events are hardcore 12 mile-long obstacle courses designed by the Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. With the most innovative courses and half a million inspiring participants, Tough Mudder is the premier adventure challenge series in the world. I'll hasten to add also, that, this one isn’t a race.....it’s a test, to see if you can complete it!!!

Once again I've found 2 people equally as stupid as me, who think it might be fun to run around a country estate in Scotland, wading through Mud, Nettles, Fire, Battling Obstacles,  Near freezing plunge pools and occasionally getting Electrocuted for our troubles - My Teammates for this are Chris Nourse and John Mc Glynn.
