Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

To all those who have already sponsored this great cause, I thank you for your donations. The race went well, the weather was near perfect for running and the 100km plus of pre race training over the last 6 months made for a respectable time. I have added a few photo's including a copy of the results page. I've still not made it into the top 10,000 runners though.

This year I ran to raise funds for The Christie's in memory of Chris Frankland. Son of friend and colleague Bob Frankland. Chris was diagnosed with Cancer in February 2011 where the primary source is unknown. (for further information see http://www.cupfoundjo.org/). After two sessions of Chemotherapy he suffered a pulmonary embolism and died at Royal Oldham Hospital on the 20 April 2011. He was described by friends and family as a  “True Legend”

Your donation is appreciated and will be used by Christie's to help all those affected by cancer, both now and in the future
