Story

Hi,

We are Steve, Sheralyn, & Archie Hammond. Our son and Archie's brother Ben passed away on the 4th July 2016 just 10 days after his 15th birthday.

He died suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition without warning.

He had been a fit and active young man who enjoyed riding his mountain bike, working part time on a local farm and was also a keen photographer. He always had a smile on his face and loved making people laugh.

The time leading upto his death was no different than any other, he had enjoyed the previous day at a local mountain biking centre with his friends, and on the day itself, he had been working on the local farm which was where he was in his element. Even at that age he had a real passion for farming and knew exactly what he wanted to do when he left school.

We would like to raise money for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) to fund an annual local screening program. Each week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. If we can save just one life and save another family from going through what we are having to endure, it would mean a whole lot to us.

Many thanks for visiting our page.
