Story
Thank you for your support with my London Marathon JustGiving challenge!
On 27/1/2020 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and on 11/3/2020 I had my prostate removed in a five hour operation. My recovery following my operation has been good and I was allowed to start exercising towards the end of 2020, fingers crossed 🤞 it stays away !
I thought raising money for Prostate Cancer Research was a great way of raising the topic of prostate cancer and hopefully make more people aware of how important it is to get checked out.
If one person reading this, has concerns and through reading this makes an appointment with their Doctors to get checked out, I’ve achieved my goal !
My Father has also suffered from Prostate cancer and has had various treatments over the past 15 + years.
Also since I have applied to take part in the marathon a very close and long standing friend has been diagnosed!
As you can tell I have plenty of background to Prostate Cancer and I am very passionate about spreading the word of how important it is to have regular check ups and a simple blood test! Its easy and could save your life.
I would really appreciate it if you would consider sponsoring me. I am hoping to raise £100 per mile I run! I think this will help me mentally whilst I am running the course on October 3rd.
Thank you for reading my story and helping to spread the word of this often unspoken about disease especially between Men! Please encourage any of the Males in your life to get a simple blood test with their GP and of course a huge Thankyou if you sponsor me. Steve.
My page donations will be sent direct to the charity in a fast and secure way. Its efficient, saves time and cuts costs for the charity. Let's do this!
