Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to take the plunge and participate in the Royal Parks half Marathon again on 10th October 2021!

Great Ormond Street Hospital have performed life saving, open heart surgery on two little girls, who are very close to my family.  Sisters, Felicity (10) received her open heart surgery at just 2 days old and Florence (2) received her open heart surgery when she was 9 months old.  Both girls have different heart conditions and received a bleak outcome, when first diagnosed however, after receiving a secondary opinion from the cardiac team, within the Hospital, the girls received the essential treatment and surgery needed.

The Hospital's support to the girls was fantastic, they had one to one care within ICU Department and were even able to have 'animal therapy' (with visits from various breeds of dogs) to help make the recovery that little bit more bearable and fun!  Further, their parents were able to stay close by and received accommodation for the duration of their daughters' recovery!

It is fair to say, Great Ormond Street Hospital saved Felicity and Florence's lives and really is a magnificent place for children.

I would really appreciate it if you could help support this wonderful hospital.
