Story
Stuart was diagnosed with gastric cancer on New Year's Eve 2019. Throughout his illness, Stuart remained optimistic, courageous and determined to overcome any and every obstacle in his path. Unfortunately, on 26th July 2020, Stuart lost his battle with cancer and sadly passed away.
He will be forever remembered for his ability to light up a room and make everyone feel welcome in his home. He was truly the host with the most, the life and soul of every party. Stuart was loved by his family and friends dearly and he will live on forever in our memories.
Stuart was never happier than when he was spending time with his family and friends. He thrived on making others happy and was truly the best person to be around as he could brighten even the darkest of days.
Stuart was an avid cyclist, out every Saturday morning with his cycling group the DT Rouleurs and even taking his bike on family holidays to Florida to cycle with the Dawn Patrol. Of course, he had to stop along the way for some coffee, cake and the occasional pint of Guinness.
The OPA has led the fight against Oesophageal and Gastric Cancer for 30 years. Donations will go towards raising awareness and encouraging early diagnosis. They provide a range of services to help patients, their families and carers cope with the difficulties of cancer treatment and guide them through the journey.
Stuart's family would like to thank those who have donated, no matter how small so that OPA can continue to provide their amazing services to help families through this most difficult of journeys.
