I lost my brother to suicide in September 2015. When it happened it was a shock that devistated me and my family. At the time I found it hard to believe but as time went on I started healing.

Recently I did a photographic project called ‘Were Still Here’, photographing those who where effected by my brothers death. As I did the project it gave me a chance to revisit those who where in my brothers life and seeing for myself how the death has effected each individual. As a part of an exhibition I put a charity box next to my project for those to donate. 

The charity I chose was survivors of bereavement of suicide, a charity who helped me out when the incident happened. After the death of my brother I was told that I would be waiting 4 months to see a counsellor, with survivors of bereavement it took me 2 minutes to ring someone and for them to be on the other side. The charity uses donations to set up helplines and meetings across the uk to support those who have been effected by suicide.

From the exhibition I raised £72.50 and I have added it to the just giving page. Being in touch with charity they have said that the sky dive will have a fee of £200, £50 deposit from me, but if I raise over £395 the fee will be taken out. I’m hoping to raise £550 so the charity can benefit from the sky dive. I’m doing this for all survivors of this type of tragedy and most importantly for my brother.
