Story
Hello! On the 8th of June this year I’m going to be taking part in a 29km event through the Lake District to raise awareness around mental health and hopefully generate some funds for Mind, a charity who specialises in supporting and advocating for those who struggle with their mental health.
I have struggled with anxiety and depression for many years and this year I wanted to challenge myself to do something like this, get out of my comfort zone and do something to help others going through similar things to me.
Mental health problems aren’t visible and the lack of understanding of them can make it difficult to talk openly and ask for help. I myself have struggled to open up about it too so I am hopeful that in doing this, I can help others to do the same.
In this Lake District Ultra Challenge, I will be hiking 29km across the Lake District, with an elevation of 900m through areas like Longsleddle Valley and Garburn Pass.
Anything you can donate is greatly appreciated and is going to help make a difference :)
