Story

IMPORTANT UPDATE - The 3 of us are going to attempt to run both the Brighton and London Marathon in the space of 3 weeks!

Brighton Marathon on Sunday 2 April

London Marathon on Sunday 23 April

Yes it's true we're running two marathons to raise money for Guide Dogs.

6 years on from the London Marathon which we thought would be our first and last, Angela aka Charlie (Angela Charles/Blackwell) and her amazing friend and Guide Runner Vicky (Victoria Graimes) are going for it again, not once but twice in the space of 3 weeks! A little older and hopefully a little faster, although not as fast as Angela's husband Dave (David Blackwell) who will be running as well, only his second time running a Marathon too!

We're running both the Brighton and London Marathons to raise money for Guide Dogs. Flynn is Angela's Guide Dog and he has transformed her life after it was thrown in to turmoil when being diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa which led to Angela being registered Blind around 5 years ago. 'Flynn is my Superhero, he has restored my confidence and blows my mind at his eagerness and ability to guide me anywhere and everywhere. He'll be having a well deserved rest whilst we run 2 lots of 26.2 miles. I will forever be indebted to Guide Dogs for bringing him in to my life, restoring my independence and bringing a smile to everyone he meets'

Please give what you can to Guide Dogs to support others with sight loss to live life to the full.

(Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives. Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you.)

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
