Story
Last year we took part in the Mendip Challenge and raised an outstanding amount of £18,453.24. The Hospice have continued to help our family since the passing of Jen so we would like to raise more money for the care and support they have provided. The Hospice, nurses and all volunteers are amazing people, they controlled Jen's pain and allowed us to make the last 8 weeks with Jen memorable. They rely on our help to survive and to give ongoing support to their patients and families.
For those of you who don't know Jen's story, in 2013 Jen was diagnosed with stage 3 Melanoma, after a long battle we were told in May 2016 Jen had a few weeks to live. In July, Jen sadly passed away. Her death was the saddest thing that could have happened to our family.
Jen wrote a blog www.liferightnow.co.uk about her diagnosis and living with cancer, from reading her blog 5 people contacted Jen to thank her of making them aware about Melanom as because of her blog they had moles which they had tested and were diagnosed stage 1.
We are taking part in the Mendip Challenge, a sponsored walk across the Mendip Hills with the aim of achieving 20 miles. All donations will go towards the hospice and continued 24/7 support to patients and their family and friends. However small it may be, your donation is greatly appreciated, we would really love to beat last years target.
