Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It is our intention to compete in the "Crossing" which is a Mountain bike ride across three national parks, starting in Whitehaven and finishing some 200 miles later in Scarborough.

Cpl Andy Bowden is a serving member of the Armed Forces in the Light Dragoons and has completed three tours of Afghanistan. He is currently training phase two soldiers and is a dedicated and committed guy who wanted to raise money for a service charity after he helped me through my recovery after being injured in 2009 and seeing the support they give the injured.

Simon Taylor was injured in Afghanistan in 2009. I broke almost every bone i have in an IED strike the most important being a severe spinal fracture and an amputated lower right leg. I have battled hard throughout this to gain the best recovery i could however was eventually discharged from the Armed Forces in 2013.

Service charities give support not only financially but mentally as well. Letting the injured know they are never alone and always have someone fighting there corner no matter how hard it gets. Charities like the Not Forgotten have supported injured soldiers since the great war and do so by offering adventure training and camaraderie. This proves vital to an injured soldiers mental state of mind and allows him to have a much needed break as well as a sense of belonging.

Please Help us support the charities who give this much needed support by giving kindly,

Thank you,

Andy and Si
