Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Earlier this year Thornton Sports Director, Bill Pomfret, sadly passed away following a prolonged period of illness. In his memory colleagues at Thornton Sports will be taking part in the Ribble Valley Pub Walk on Saturday 6th June. The event aims to raise funds for East Lancashire Hospice and will involve a 10 mile walk, visiting 10 pubs along the way.

Those who knew Bill will be familiar with his fantastically dry sense of humour and his appreciation of good food and fine wine. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and ‘tinkering’ with his vintage motorbikes We’re sure he would approve of us walking 10 miles via 10 pubs and would no doubt tell us to have ‘a drink or two for him’.

Bill was a wonderful man who will be sorely missed. We aim to have a fun time and raise an impressive amount for East Lancashire Hospice in his name. Please show your support by sponsoring us today.

Thank you.
