Sometimes if we are lucky then life provides a role model, someone whose example we admire and whose actions inspire to do similar good. For us all one such inspiration was our brother / Uncle Graham. It will always be one of our biggest regrets that we never got to tell him that, despite having plenty of opportunities to have done so. Graham was such a lovely fella with a great sense of humour, who gave up his time to coach the junior section of his local triathlon club despite never really participating in the event himself, he was also Head of Governors at the local school and held in high regard by all those who worked with him. He shared a passion for Coventry City and his support for Paul Weller was legendary, travelling to as many concerts as he could get away with. Tragically Graham never seemed to see himself in the same light as others did and he silently suffered the dark demons of depression for far longer than we are now all aware.  

 This Sunday, 9th September, we will toe the start line of the 100 mile Shakespeare bike ride along with some of Graham’s friends on what will be the first anniversary of his death. The aim will be to raise as much money as we can for the Missing People charity who provided the family with guidance and support over what was an extremely difficult period for all. The ride will also give us a chance to celebrate Graham’s life rather than being sat at home feeling sorry for ourselves, something we know he wouldn’t have wanted.
