Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are doing this bike ride for two reasons: Firstly to raise money for ROSY (Respite for Oxfordshire's Sick Youngsters) and secondly as a "Mike Ride" in memorial of Mike Willis, the pub landlord who got us all together in the first place. Mike was a huge Marmitey character at the centre of Chadlington life who became famous for inventing customer service. Mike was a huge supporter of these charity rides and it was to accommodate life at the pub that we cycled on Sunday and Monday, a tradition we continue in his memory.

Just about every penny raised and donated to ROSY will go directly to covering the costs of respite care for children in their homes. Less than 1% is needed for administritive purposes as everyone works as a volunteer, so you can be sure your money will go directly to where it is needed and it will make a huge difference to the lives of a family facing unimaginable strain. You can read more about ROSY at www.rosy.org.uk.

This year's Mike Ride is to Worcester and back. While we are there, we will sample beer, do cultural things, give Ted Talks and eat curry. Then we will slog our way back to Chadlington. Why should you sponsors us other than to donate to a great cause? Hills. Lots of them. Like Fish Hill. And other hills. Each hill followed by a hill. And another hill and another hill and then a hill. There are no downhill sections. It is uphill there and it is uphill back. According to Wikipedia.
