I am running in memory of my Mum - Iris

She passed away recently and has left a massive hole in our family.

I decided to do something that will be tough enough to keep me focused and decided on the Marathon Des Sables - a race across the desert.

The Marathon Des Sables is a six day ultra marathon across the Sahara desert covering around 250km which is the equivalent of 6 marathons with one long stage of 50 miles.

The multi day event is held is Southern Morocco every year in the Sahara desert and has been called the toughest foot race in the world and runners are self sufficient carrying all food and supplies to camp in the desert.
