Story
When my brother, Philip, was diagnosed with MS strangely he found it a relief. He knew that there was something awry, he had partially lost his eyesight and had tingling in his fingers. Tests were done and it was MS, he breathed a sigh of relief that there was a reason as to why this happened and why he felt like he did. My dad, mum and myself were up in arms, panic and worry set in. Philip lived 200 miles away how were we to help him when he needed it?! Funnily enough Philip was the one that set us at ease about the whole thing! He knew what it was and that was half the battle for him, everything else he took in his stride. He coped with it graciously and never once complained about it, if it hadn't been for the white stick I am not sure people would have ever known!
He had very good friends in Preston, people that my mum and me are very grateful that he had. They were good to him and they have been equally as good to us, for which we are humbled by.
However with their goodness I believe has also come madness! Madness in the form of an 18 mile Trek from Blackpool to Preston – yes I did say Blackpool to Preston, yes I did say 18 miles!!! However the cause is a good one, for the MS Society, even if you donate pennies anything is gratefully received, it all helps. And as Philip would say - Remember if you are under 65 and earn over £7475 then tick Gift Aid, if you do then the lovely Taxman will top up your donation!
Please, if you can donate
