Story

WE DID IT!!!!!

I am sooo proud of myself and my brother, Paul for completing this half marathon. To a lot of people it isn't much, lots lf people run full marathons, scale mountains......... but to me, this was my Mount Everest, something I never in a million years thought I would be able to do!!! And I did it, with the support from my family, the Gordon and Boyd families, strangers that spurred me on though out the race course and everyone else that sponsored me and put their faith and belief in me finishing!

Please read my story and if you haven't already please sponsor myself, or my brother, we are sooo close to reaching our team target, if we smashed that, it would finish off the event with a bang!!!

Thank you thank you thank you all!!! Xxxxx

Who is Vanessa?

I am someone, who as my friends will know, is not one for exercise.   In fact, I can safely say, I hate exercise in all forms!!!  In the last year, I have started a personal journey to redefine my life: losing weight and I have started some light running.  I was then set a challenge before Christmas, which I hesitantly accepted.  This was to run a half marathon......

So When/Where/What is it?

The Stratford-upon-Avon half marathon is on the 27th April and together with my brother, Paul, we are running 13.2 miles of roads around Stratford (What on earth am I doing??!!)

Why I hear you ask?

I want to achieve something that I thought I could never do.  There is however another reason that I AM going to complete this half marathon, and that is......we want to raise as much money as we possibly can for a charity that is close to our family's heart.

“The Bubble Foundation UK”: working to save lives of babies and children born without an immune system; raises funds for medical equipment, toys and educational aids, welfare of the babies, children and their families, and importantly to fund research required at this cutting edge of paediatric practice.

The Bubble Foundation for the last 2 years, have been an instrumental part of the lives of our very close friends; Heather, Paul, Abigail and Oliver.   Sadly, 2 year old Oliver passed away on the 10th January this year.

So this is our tribute to Oliver, a little Superman, who fought so hard, determined to beat anything that was thrown his way, showing his amazing character and with a constant smile that melted everyone's hearts.

Please take some time to read the links below and you will see what an amazing charity this is.  We want to raise as much as we can to give the Bubble Foundation something back for their support to Heather, Paul, Abigail and Oliver..............x

I am determined to cross that finish line........WE WILL DO IT!!!!!
