Story
As a child you dream big dreams, believe anything is possible and that the world is made of fairy dust, it is only as you grow older and open your eyes that the injustice of the Universe threatens to break the very heart of you. But I choose today not to let it! And so 15 years after my last little Himalayan adventure, where in all seriousness I was chased by mad cows and robbed by monkeys, I shall be trekking further and higher in an attempt to re-balance a little of the world’s sadness.
On the 2 November 2013 I’ll be heading to Kathmandu in Nepal to begin a 19 day hike culminating 5,364 meters above sea level at Everest Base Camp. Most days I’ll be trekking for 6-8 hours and staying in tea houses along the way. And before I even get on the plane I will have to train like a crazy person so that when I’m almost at the top of the world I won’t pass out from lack of oxygen!!
In the grand scheme of things my journey to base camp is a small insignificant thing, but the money raised will support so many who in the darkest of times need someone to show the human kindness that we so often take for granted in our own lives. Your love and support in helping me achieve this over the next year would be amazing and I cannot thank you enough for it.
Love and Light, Yas xxx
