We support children with disabilities to access community facilities

Story

New Hope is Worcester based charity that provides respite care for children with learning difficulties and disabilities. The charity supports over 90 families with providing much needed respite care every Saturday and every school holiday.

I was first introduced to New Hope by my cousins, Lauran Bailey and Katherine and Charlie Roberts who have worked with the charity over the past two years. The children that attend New Hope are welcomed into a warm and nurturing environment where every child's individual and often complicated needs are catered for.

New Hope firmly believe that all children with special needs deserve to have the same opportunities as their non disabled peers and this is why, whilst providing respite care, New Hope ensure that the children are able to access fantastic leisure opportunities that they may not otherwise be able to participate in. These range from trips to local activity centres, Exciting adventures to Lego Land and the Harry Potter experience, horse riding, swimming, bowling and many more.

New Hope is an ever expanding and innovative project and Jean Wilson (The founder) has many hopes and dreams for its future. New Hope has set itself a very ambitious but fantastic New Project, to buy a small working farm and turn it into a a place where teenagers and young adults between the ages of 16 and 25 who have special needs, can come and learn many important life skills by experiencing life on a working farm. It will also be a lovely place for our younger children to enjoy as they will also make regular visits to the farm to enjoy the animals, open spaces and fresh country air!

In addition to their ongoing valuable work, New Hope are looking to raise around 1 Million pounds to achieve this dream. For this reason me and 3 others are trekking to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro to raise up to £10,000 to help New Hope achieve this amazing goal. We have less than 2 years to fund-raise for this very ambitious target so anything you can give will be much appreciated and will make a difference to many children and young adults around Worcestershire and the neighbouring counties.

Thank You,

Zach, Lauran, Joe and Ben X
