Story
As many of you know, this is a charity close to my heart as runny blood runs in my family.
I needed a kick up the bum so I’m joining in the “Get moving this March!” to raise funds for their work, research, education and support.
The mission is to run, walk, skip or hop at least 31 miles in March.
Every step helps the UK bleeding disorder community get the care, support and connection they need.
The amount of information and education they share is incredible, from sessions for parents of newly diagnosed children to camps for children and siblings to build a support network of friends who understand Support and information is easy to access.
They raise awareness and provide education on bleeding disorders, and this is certainly needed, for example, very few people know that half of those with a diagnosed bleeding disorder are women and girls. I’m guessing even many of my clinical friends don’t know that.
If you can spare the price of a coffee to help a child understand their treatment, a teenager to get advice on travelling alone for the first time with a bleeding disorder, or a young woman deal with her periods with a bleeding disorder, I’ll be forever grateful. Anyone wanting to join me on a walk or run (I’m not fast!), while putting the world to rights, let me know,
