Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Not content with the 3 piffling volcanos in August, I have decided to don my hiking boots & crampons this time and set about conquering the mighty glacier capped volcano Cotopaxi (5897m).
To celebrate my 2 year anniversary with the Phoenix Projects here in Ecuador on February 6th 2012 I, alongside my fellow Phoenix Challengers, will be heading south to climb 4 Volcanoes just south of Quito.
Once again my challenge, a personal one in every aspect, will be undertaken in order to raise much needed funds for the kids here in Ecuador and I would love to give you the chance to get involved.
Earlier this year we raised $10,000 that has enabled us to crack on with some great initiatives, including a new kitchen and dinning hall for the kids and Huayrapungo, Guinea Pig houses for the colegio kids of Muenala and an emergency fund pot for Larcacunga.
Next year the initiatives continue, with the daily provision of fresh fruit and veg at each of the 3 schools, supporting 32 kids through their next year of high school, introducing a new programme for our pregnant mums and hopefully sponsoring a computer teacher at the schools.
So how the hell am I going to do this!? With a big smile on my face, a daily dose of 'Stationary Running Man' now taking stage at 5am in the morning (just don't ask!), more laps of the O Town stadium here and 3 acclimatisation hikes up the surrounding volcanoes. Just take a look at the Challenge overview!
So I am asking you lot to share your Christmas beer or glass of mulled wine with me and make a donation towards our Project here. You know its all for a great cause and that any contribution you can make will make not only mine but the kids Christmas and New Year ;)
