Story
I have decided to set myself the challenge of walking the 40 mile East Devon Way in one day. Starting from doing literally zero exercise it really will be a tough challenge.
I hope you will help me by sponsoring me with all the proceeds going towards the Devon Air Ambulance Trust
I have chosen the DAAT for very personal reasons. On the 28th of December 2013 my Dad was found unconscious on a back lane about 5 miles from home. He had gone out for a cycle ride, hit a patch of ice and crashed. He was found by a farmer who initially believed him to be dead. Fortunately the Devon Air Ambulance attended and flew him quickly to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, where he was treated for a four breaks in his collar bone, two broken ribs and most seriously a bleed on the brain (despite the fact he was wearing a cycle helmet).
If it wasn't for the Devon Air Ambulance I fear we would have lost him that day.
So please please spare what you can for this amazing charity who save countless others like Dad, but wouldn't be able to without your support.
I will keep this page updated so you can all enjoy seeing the pain the training puts me through!!
Devon Air Ambulance is the charitable trust which raises the funds to keep two emergency air ambulances flying and two critical care cars on the road, delivering enhanced and critical care across Devon. We are proud to be independent of Government funding; Every penny raised is with thanks to the generosity of the communities, businesses and friends of Devon. Thank you for your support - it really does save lives!
The training starts now!!
