Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. A number of my very good friends at GLO in Motherwell decided to mark the end of my six months chemotherapy with a spectacular event to raise money for Cancer Research - let's climb Ben Nevis they suggested! The fact that none of the volunteers had walked further than the shops did not seem to worry Angela and Liz. Before I knew it a large team of walkers had signed up and began training for this big GLO Team challenge. Please give generously to this worthwhile cause and encourage the team of amateur and novice climbers who hope to reach the top of the highest mountain in the UK.  The team consists of some of the most unfit yet enthusiastic climbers in Lanarkshire! This climb mirrors something of my own struggle with cancer over the past 9 years and the vital lessons I have learned - keep pressing on, always be thankful and never loose faith.  As my wonderful granddaughter Holly constantly reminds me from her favourite Peter Rabbit - a good rabbit never gives up!

Here are the GLO team members and friends who have signed up for the expedition - Angela, Davy, Liz, Stephen, Debbie, Alan, Andy, Ruth and Adi. It's not too late to join us!
