Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On March 2nd 2012, our twin girls, Isabelle and Skye were born. The girls were born prematurely at only 23 weeks and were just too small to survive. They were perfect little girls, but sadly they died only hours later in our arms. Only a parent experiencing a still or neo natal birth can understand the sadness we felt.
We cannot be more grateful for the compassion, consideration and support we received from everyone at UCLH who did everything they could for Michelle and I. They treated our girls with dignity, helped us to create memories and arranged some of the difficult duties such as registering their deaths and a funeral so that we could say goodbye to Izzy and Skye properly.
We are getting on with things as you do and we feel lucky because we have such good firends and families. A couple of those friends and I are aiming to complete a number of challenges and events. We are hoping to raise enough money to support other parents and families who may also have the grace to receive the same kind of support during a difficult time which made a real difference to Michelle and I.
So, me and my mates, Steve Bancroft and Dan Mannion are gearing up for a number of challenges over the coming months. We have warmed up with the Bosley fell run - 7.5km's of utter mountainous misery (followed by 2.5 pints for every km) and next up is a 10km race in London on August 4th. We plan more adventurous stuff and we welcome anyone who wants to join us. The only entry criteria is that you must be a good laugh and enjoy exaggerating/moaning about the event over many beers after we've finished!
