Story

ADVENTURE TO PREVENT DEMENTIA

If you are reading this then chances are you know either
Jonathan, Chris or possibly both and you have heard they are taking part in the “Mongol Rally”.

The name of the team says it all “Adventure to Prevent Dementia”.

This is not a glorified holiday, it's an unsupported adventure and so by its very nature extremely risky. The chaps really are on their own putting both health and life at risk. It will be a true adventure let alone a test of their newfound friendship, after all would you fancy spending nearly
three months in a small car with either of them?

Whilst this jolly jape is underway the “lads” hope to raise some cash for “Rare Dementia Support” in memory of Jonathan’s late wife Lynette, aka “Binky”.

Indeed, it is for this reason that the boy’s trusty steed has been nicknamed “Binky” in her honour.

“Binky” is a 20 year old VW Polo with a hundred thousand miles on the clock, few creature comforts and a Rocking Horse on the roof (Don’t ask!). The Gruesome Twosome are hoping to drive her 10,000 miles or so from Prague to Ulan Ude, which as everyone knows is about 400 miles from Ulaanbaatar (Look it up!)

Whilst neither of them has dementia, anyone who knows them
would agree that they  are both lunatics. After all what possesses a chap to sail from Antigua to the UK in January or to drive old sportscars at ridiculous speeds round a track – I rest my case.

There are links on the page to “Just Giving” which will send
funds to Rare Dementia Support. The lads hope you will press the button as often as possible, every time they reach a milestone or to partake in one of the impromptu “Rocking Horse Sweepstakes” which we will be running.
