Story

Royal Holloway Riding Fundraiser RH Riding have previously attended Big Sleep Out as the club's main annual charity fundraiser event. However, this year we are extremely excited to say we are changing it up and have a new challenge (actually 896 challenges) ahead of us...! We will be taking on the 36 floors of the Walkie Talkie Tower - 896 stairs - all in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Great Ormond Street Hospital do such incredible and important work each and every day for around 620 children, and we are thrilled to be supporting them this year. For our social secretary, Lucy, this fundraiser is especially important since she was, as a child, a patient at Great Ormond Street. We will be creating a training plan that aligns with our riding too! So not only will we be getting ready to climb 896 stairs, we will also be using it to improve fitness, stamina and strength to contribute towards improved riding abilities - talk about motivational multitasking! We would really appreciate any small donation possible towards this fundraiser as GOSH deserve every single penny. Just £10 helps pay for specialist equipment used on tiny babies, £50 would pay for a parent to stay overnight in family accommodation unit while their child is admitted, and £100 would cover the costs of the specialist play team for a whole day. Every donation you make just encourages us to keep pushing ourselves further, so together we can help Great Ormond Street in their continued treatment, support and care of seriously ill children. Follow our journey on our Instagram highlights (@rhriding) as we add team members and start training!
