Story
Years and Years have been wasted, let's not waste a second more.
For 3 years children in Mosul have lost out on education due to the conflict in Iraq.
88% of children were in education before the city was captured and destroyed by IS and now only 12% of these children are in education since the city has been liberated.
Parents are simply too afraid to send their children to school, with unstable structures, with roofing about to collapse any second, fragile walls that are barely standing due to being hit by mortar and shell rockets.
There is no light or electricity.
What once used to be classrooms where children would learn and play is now a pile or rubble, literally.
What once used to be classrooms where children would sit and dream of their futures is now in tatters, is now full of shrapnel, debris and other equipment of war left behind after the conflict.
Sections of the school are cordoned off with tape reading "unexploded bomb". !!!!
HRF are helping the children who have suffered from these deliberate and heinous attacks by providing them with their basic rights to an education by rebuilding schools in Iraq.
THE GOAL IS BIG, IT'S ACHIEVABLE, BUT BIG, BUT THE LONG TERM LASTING EFFECTS WILL BE POWERFUL FOR GENERATIONS TO COME...
What do I want to achieve?
I want to be able to rid the horrible memories of war from the corridors of the schools, I want to help remove the constant awful reminder, by clearing up the schools of all debris and shrapnel, before full re-structural work can begin, and to do this, I NEED YOUR HELP.
I will be skydiving 15,000 feet on the 29th February 2020, to raise as much money as I can to assist with the clean up. Please donate whatever amount you can to make a difference to the lives of these beautiful, innocent and helpless children.
