I am raising money for the St Luke's Big Project. This project is seeking to raise £500k to refurbish and extend St Luke's Church and Community Centre in South Oxford. The current wooden building is really well used - for youth groups, drop in advice, community activities, local art displays and of course a church. However it has reach the end of its life and needs rebuilding.

So far the fund raising team has raised 80% of the target, but we really need to raise the last £100k so that the building work can get under way early next year (2013) after 7 years of gestation.

Anyhow, last night a new fundraising idea popped into my head, so I thought I would give it a go and see if it could raise £1,000. It involves running a photo competition when I invite people to email a photo that has inspired them to: mail@bridgebuildertrust.org.uk

I will post the best photographs in each of the following categories so everyone can be inspired by them. You can vote for the best inspirational photograph by making donation and identifying your choice in the message to us. A caption is always a vote winner.

1. Favorite holiday places.
2. Life and times in Oxford
3. Nature/animals in action.
4. It could only happen in 2013.
5. History of South Oxford.

All the usual rules of photo competitions apply -
(a) by sending in a photograph you give permission for me to display it, and anyone featured in it has agreed to appear (except crowds).
(b) No unsuitable photos. My decision on what is suitable is final
(c) No prizes or payments are offered in return for joining in.
(d) Voting for your own photograph is allowed but not cricket!
(e) Closing date 31st July 2012, but early entry recommended.
