As most of you know I've been working with and alongside Tayside Mountain Rescue Team for about 24 years and despite that involvement, I am still amazed and humbled by the people who freely give up their time and effort so readily to assist others either 'on the hill' or by fundraising in support.

Tayside Mountain Rescue provide a service way beyond  the limited scope of their title.  Yes, they come to the aid of those in distress in the hills but they also provide a world class search and rescue service working with or beyond the emergency services.  Be it vulnerable missing persons, water users in difficulty, the injured or disorientated, there's always a response when it's needed. 

A world class service requires proper funding and equipping and I am asking you to help me support that.

The Clova Extreme Duathlon is now a well established event entirely run by members and supporters of Tayside Mountain Rescue Team.  It is a 27km road cycle followed by a 14km mountain run over 2 Munros and rounded off with 6km cycle back to the starting point at the Clova Hotel.

This year, instead of supporting the event in a medical role, I'm taking part in it and I would be very grateful if you would support me by donating what you can to my JustGiving page. 

If you're thinking "he does that stuff anyway, so it's not that hard", can I just point out a couple of things.  Firstly, I'm no' as young as I used to be and, secondly, two weeks before this event I will be taking part in both a running marathon and cycle marathon so my legs might not be the freshest ! 

So please help an old guy along and donate what you can... it'll spur me on !
