Alan's 'Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal' page

Fission 20 · 19 March 2022
When I entered the Fission 20 mile road-race, it was not my intention to raise funds for charity. However, as the horrific events in Ukraine have been unfolding, it would seem churlish of me not to use my expended energies to support the people of Ukraine at their time of greatest need.
On this occasion, rather than running in my usual club colours, I shall be wearing the blue and yellow colours of the Ukrainian flag. All funds raised will go towards the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, of which the British Red Cross is a leading charity. Thank you all so much for any donations you can make.
The British Red Cross plays a vital role in emergency response, and the ongoing, ever-changing situation concerning Ukraine is no exception. In times of crisis, we’re here to help people. We’re local and we’re global and we’ve been doing this for 150 years. Our network of incredible staff and volunteers means we are uniquely placed to reach people in fearful, uncertain times. But it’s the generosity of our supporters that enables our work to happen quickly and efficiently. We rely on your support to keep us going.
