Story
Hello and welcome to my fundraising page.
My name is Alan Lindfield and I use a wheelchair because I have lost the use of my legs. I sailed with the Jubilee Sailing Trust in 2006 on my first voyage and it was one of the most exciting and fulfilling activities I have done since becoming paraplegic. Being involved with the JST has become a 'lifeline to life' for me.
On September 19th, I climbed the mast of SV Tenacious using only the strength in my arms. I want to raise money so that the JST can continue, in the future, to change other peoples' lives too. Climbing the mast was my biggest challenge ever, so please sponsor me, every £1 will help towards my target. I have now added some photos taken during the climb by supporters, and I would like to thank all those who have supported me in the challenge so far. I hope that sometime soon I will be able to climb the mast of Lord Nelson the other JST vessel.
Tenacious is a specially designed ship offering life changing sailing trips to people of all physical abilities.
Tenacious is owned by the Jubilee Sailing Trust, a charity based in Woolston Southampton and every penny you help me raise will enable them to continue their vital work.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Jubilee Sailing Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
