Story
My name is Alec Crombie. I'm 65 years old and totally blind. Good reasons, you may say, for not attempting to walk 65 miles round the borders of Rutland in the space of 5 consecutive days! But that is exactly what I aim to do in the stalwart company of our recent High Sheriff, Libby Gilman, starting off from Oakham on October 13th. Why so mad? Well, I hardly need to tell Rutlanders about the importance of raising money in a good cause, and as I know from a lifetime in the Law, causes don't come much better than CRIMEBEAT, a Registered Charity cherished and polished over many years by the High Sheriffs of Rutland and Leicestershire. If you'll pardon the platitude, our Young People are our future, and I believe passionately in them and in their safety. That is why I'm asking you to follow Libby and me as we slog our way around Rutland, and to give us your valued support, both moral and monetary. By educating for safety I know deep down that we can all do our bit to give those Youngsters better than even chances in life! Please prove me right!
