I am taking on this challenge of running my first half marathon in Edinburgh on the 29th May 2022. My goal is to raise awareness and help support Kidney Care UK - the UKs leading kidney patient support charity, providing practical, financial and emotional support for kidney patients and their families and campaigning to improve care services across the UK.

I feel passionate about supporting this cause due to my mum being a kidney patient for over 25 years and who is now currently on the waiting list for her second kidney transplant. She has received tremendous support and care over the years and remains incredibly strong and positive throughout any battles that come her way. Since a young age I have seen the amazing work of many healthcare professionals who work closely with kidney patients and I wanted to do something to recognise this by supporting a charity that can help deliver more care to those who need it. My mum is my greatest support and her resilience and bravery always amazes me. She is an inspiration to me and I hope she can be to many others too!
